Teaching Faculty
Diana Azavedo, Diana is the lead teacher trainer and has been teaching yoga for more than fifteen years in Dubai, Bali and India. She holds the designation of (experienced) E RYT-500 designation with Yoga Alliance. She also has a Master’s Degree in the Science & Philosophy of Yoga and is currently a PhD student in an effort to make yoga socially relevant. Diana teaches a variety of yoga instructor training courses in Dubai, foundational 100-hour, yoga alliance 200-hour certified programs, yin yoga teaching programs, pregnancy focused yoga teacher training courses.

- Introduction to Yin Yoga: History and origins of Yin Yoga.Understanding the concept of yin and yang.
- Philosophy and Principles: Yin Yoga philosophy and its application to modern life. The concept of “finding stillness” and its importance.
- Anatomy and Physiology: Study of connective tissues and their role in Yin Yoga. Understanding skeletal variations and individual differences. Exploration of joints, ligaments, and fascia.
- Meridian Theory: Overview of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and meridians. The connection between Yin Yoga poses and meridian lines.
- Poses and Sequencing: Detailed exploration of key Yin Yoga poses. Principles of sequencing Yin Yoga classes. Adapting poses for different body types and abilities.
- Mindfulness and Meditation: Incorporating mindfulness into Yin Yoga practice. Techniques for guiding meditation in Yin classes.
- Teaching Methodology: Effective cueing and communication skills. Hands-on adjustments and prop usage in Yin Yoga. Creating a safe and inclusive class environment.
- Practical Teaching Experience: Opportunities for participants to practice teaching Yin Yoga. Constructive feedback and peer evaluation.
- Energetic Anatomy: Exploring the energetic aspects of Yin Yoga. Chakras and their relevance to Yin practice.
- Self-Practice and Reflection: Encouraging personal Yin Yoga practice for teachers. Reflective exercises on the impact of Yin Yoga.
- Ethics and Professionalism: Code of ethics for Yin Yoga teachers. Building and maintaining professional relationships with students.
- Business of Yoga: Marketing and branding for Yin Yoga teachers. Establishing and managing a Yin Yoga class or studio.
