Learning how to give safe and consented assists and adjustments during a yoga teacher training is crucial to add to the skill set of a yoga teacher. It is important how to offer these for both the safety and well-being of students, as well as for fostering a respectful and supportive teaching environment.

On the #ryt200 #yogateachertraining program, we spend a lot of time learning these assists. We practice on different students. We explore different ways to assist a student in one pose. We also talk about physical safety, respect for boundaries, fostering trust, individual support, ethical teaching and overall enhancing the students experiences

Learning how to give safe and consented assists and adjustments ensures that the practice of yoga remains a healing, transformative practice, rooted in care, respect, and ethical conduct.

I had such a lovely evening guiding a group of energetic participants.

Practicing yoga during a full moon and aligning your energy with this lunar phase will allow you to feel grounded and fulfilled. I certainly hope they all felt this after class🙏

A full moon gives us yoga practitioners the opportunity to refresh, rejuvenate and release any built up tension or stress.

They say the evening is the best time to practise during a full moon. This will also allow you to reap the benefits as you wind down before bed.

In one of our discussions during #ryt200 #yogateachertraining, we highlighted how much appreciation yoga teachers truly deserve for their dedication and skill.

It is easy for people to overlook the challenges of teaching yoga. However, once someone has experienced the responsibility of holding space and guiding a class—whether they’re a beginner or experienced teacher—they begin to understand just how demanding it can be.

Quite often beginner yoga teachers quickly jump to self-judgment or self-criticism. This leads to a feeling of not being good enough.

We must remember: Yoga teachers navigate the complexities of English and Sanskrit pose names, alignment cues, hands-on assists, anatomy sprinkle, philosophy infusion and personalized modifications, all while creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere. The role requires not only technical expertise but also deep compassion and commitment to fostering both physical and mental growth in others. It’s no small feat, and it’s something worth truly appreciating.

The trainees on the current #yttdubai are progressing so well. It is a proud moment for me to watch these ladies evolve each day as they learn, absorb and apply🤓
